Drying your hair at home
The best solution for our hair would be to let it dry freely after each wash. However, we don't always have the time to do this, and especially in winter we need to have perfectly dry hair when we go outside. A wet head not only means the risk of a serious cold, but also the risk of freezing our strands which will make them very brittle. Many women are also unable to style their hair without the help of a stream of hot air.
PREPARATION OF HAIR BEFORE BLOW-DRYING
1 Wash your hair thoroughly with shampoo-no matter what your hair type, avoid shampoos with sulfates and alcohol. These ingredients can cause damage, dry out hair and make hair frizzy.
2. towel-dry your hair- gently wrap strands of hair with a cotton towel without rubbing them. However, it is important to squeeze the hair thoroughly. Never use a hair dryer when your hair is still so wet that water drips from it. It is best to wait several minutes after washing them before starting to dry them. The hair immediately after washing must be handled extremely gently. After wetting the strands with warm water, the hair's scales split, making it vulnerable to mechanical damage. Therefore, give up combing wet hair while it is still damp and tangled. Any tugging with a brush or comb can damage their structure. The softer the towel, the better for your hair. You can even find towels that are specially designed for drying hair, or use a cotton T-shirt or microfiber cloth to gently dry your hair.
3. use heat protection spray- this helps prevent hair damage and splitting, pay special attention to the ends and top layers of your hair.
If you want to straighten wavy or curly hair, when you dry, you should use a straightening cream.
HAIR DRYING
1. It is best to dry hair with a gentle airflow, warm or cool - when you have a dryer with 3-stage airflow it is likely that the first and second stage will be suitable for hair. The cold vent should not exceed 30 degrees, and the warm vent should not exceed 60. How to check whether the air temperature is too high? Direct the airflow to your neck, if you can stand for a long moment without a burning sensation, it means that the airflow is appropriate.
2. keep the dryer far from your head - the safe distance of the dryer from your head is at least 30 cm. The closer, the stronger and warmer the air will hit our hair. Dry your hair in one direction, preferably as the hair grows, from root to tip. This will close the scales and avoid tangling the hair. It is also important not to hold the blower on one part of the hair, but to move it all the time. You won't overheat any part and burn your skin.
3. Don't wet model your hair - dry your hair first only then use a modeling brush. This takes practice, but it's worth practicing, because this way we can avoid traditional straightening and curling at high temperatures.
4. It's a good idea to blow-dry your hair in batches (you can gather them in several handfuls for the sake of order and tie each one with a rubber band) - this way you avoid drying some strands and bypassing others. While drying, it is a good idea to support them - this way you will not create tension in them, which can sometimes
