Thin hair - ways and care for thin, delicate and fine hair
If your hair is far from your dream ideal - it's thin, thin and fine, the good news is that proper care can bring sensational results. It will allow you to enjoy beautiful, thickened (real and visual) hair. Learn some ways to make thin hair look thicker.
Why is hair thin?
In most cases, it's a tendency inherited in the genes, because genetic conditions are responsible. In addition, very often it is a consequence of our (usually unconscious) actions. In many cases (especially then, if you once had more hair, and it has lost volume over time), certain habits and care mistakes contribute to the fact that beautiful, thick hair can become thin, dull and lifeless.
What is the biggest contributor to hair becoming thin:
- Using cosmetics that are too aggressive
If you wash your hair frequently (more than once - twice a week), pay attention to the composition of your shampoo. Using shampoos that contain a fairly aggressive detergent: SLS, weakens the hair. The scalp, as, moreover, the entire body, produces its natural lipid mantle, which performs the protective function of the roots and thus maintains optimal moisture. If you wash your hair frequently with products containing SLS, but also other strong detergents, you are primarily washing away this protective layer. The scalp becomes dry and also irritated, and the hair roots are somewhat exposed. This, unfortunately, is the easiest way for hair to start falling out. Dry skin and exposed hair follicles become weaker, and as a result, the hairstyle loses volume.
- Using heavy masks and conditioners and excess styling products for thin hair
In order to prevent your hair from becoming dry, rough and dull, you need to give it an extra dose of hydration from the outside, so you should protect it with a conditioner or mask after every wash. If you do this diligently, and your hair is invariably in not very good shape, take a look at their compositions. If they contain silicones and other ingredients that make it difficult for your skin to breathe, that's probably the reason for your hair's deteriorated condition. If you apply a product containing silicones to your scalp, they can clog it, forming a so-called occlusive layer. Although the skin is protected from moisture loss, as a protective mantle is formed, but this also has its other negative side: the skin does not breathe. As a result, there can be micro-inflammation, due to the accumulation of excess sebum, inflammation of hair follicles, hair loss, and new, so-called baby hair does not have the strength to penetrate the epidermis.
Hot styling
Care for thin and thin hair should exclude, or at least severely limit, subjecting it to heat. Treating thin hair with a hair dryer, straightener, curling iron or hot rollers further dries it out, which has a major impact on breakage and split ends.
Incorrect combing of fine and sensitive hair
So how do you comb fine hair? Never do it from the top and wet. By doing so, you will tug and pull hard on the roots, causing the hair to fall out. Always try to comb it initially with your fingers - this way you will reduce the number of knots and knots, and then gradually comb from the bottom with a brush or comb.
Poor diet and deficiencies
Any abnormality occurring in the body is reflected in the appearance of the hair. Perhaps loss of volume and hair loss are caused by some deficiency. Perform basic blood tests to help dispel doubts.
The way to thin hair - thickening
Implementation of conscious and sensible care
The first step is to curb their breakage and loss Then use gentle, non-stressful, yet moisturizing and nourishing cleansers and care products. Your hair won't return to great condition and won't thicken overnight, but you'll see the first results after just a few - a dozen weeks of treating it differently. And most importantly: you will let them grow back healthily.
Stimulate growth
It's also worth stimulating the hair follicles, so the hair will grow faster and there will be more of it! You can use:
- scalp massagers - will improve blood circulation and thus stimulate hair growth;
- scalp rubs - preferably based on natural, valuable plant extracts;
- dietary supplements or medications (after consulting a doctor or trichologist) to stimulate hair growth;
The right hairstyle
In the case of thin hair, the way you cut and comb your hair is of great importance for how it looks and feels. How to style thin and sparse hair? In such a way as to visually give them volume. So it will help to:
- teasing at the roots;
- using fillers for ponytails and buns;
- using volumizing powder
- using hair thickening fibers
Rare strands will look best in the form of a short or maximum half-length hairstyle. Short strands are much easier to style in such a way as to visually add volume: they are light, and therefore do not weigh down the hairstyle. Thus, you need much less styling cosmetics to achieve and maintain the desired effect.
However, if you are not convinced by short hair and absolutely want long hair, be sure to cut it straight. Any layering will paradoxically take away even more volume. With thin hair, the classic bob also works well.
