Hair growth stages::
- Anagen - a stage of active growth in which hair grows about 1-2 cm per month. This stage lasts an average of 3-5 years, with an increasing rate during the summer.
- Katagen - a transitional phase in which the hair stops growing and enters a resting period. This stage lasts an average of 10 days.
- Telogen - the resting stage, in which the hair is deposited shallowly in the follicle and falls out when gently tugged. Once the cycle is complete, a new hair appears in place of the lost hair, which also undergoes all 3 phases.
